Our final day of bonding tours focused on project proposals in the Capital City.
Twin Cities Tour, Day Two
Our second day of the Twin Cities tour started at an early education center in Minneapolis, traveled north to St. Cloud State University, stopped at St. Louis Park City Hall, and ended at Norway House in Minneapolis.
The first day of our last tour brought us through various stops in Minneapolis, including the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Lake St. and 35W bridge reconstruction.
Suburban Tour: Day Three
The final day of our suburban tour went through Blaine, Champlin, Plymouth, and St. Louis Park.
Suburban Tour: Day Two
Our second day through the suburbs brought us to Fort Snelling, the Minnesota Zoo, Normandale Community College, Inver Hills Community College, and the busiest transit station in the state of Minnesota.
Suburban Tour: Day One
The fifth bonding tour kicked off with a trip through the northeast suburbs. We toured project proposals in Lino Lakes, Hugo, Columbus, White Bear Lake, and Lake Elmo.
Southwest Tour: Day Three
The last day of the southwest tour brought the committee through Willmar, Litchfield, and Hutchinson. It also provided an opportunity for senators to switch transportation modes from the daily tour bus to a train.

Day two included stops in St. Peter and Appleton, with a visit to Southwest Minnesota State University.

Northeast Tour: Day Three
Senators visited the Soudan Underground Mine to learn about Iron Range history and the future of scientific exploration 2,300 feet under the ground. At Hibbing Community College, senators toured campus – with a brief stop to use the mining simulator – and then heard from several northeast Minnesota organizations with project proposals. The final stop was Hibbing High School, an architectural treasure with a rich history.
Northeast Tour: Day Two
Day two of the Northeast Minnesota tour, which included a drive up the North Shore and a stop at Split Rock Lighthouse. After a brief tour of the lighthouse, senators heard from cities and towns with project proposals from campgrounds and bike trails to waste water management systems.
Northeast Tour: Day One
After a stop at the Minnesota Corrections Facility in Rush City, senators traveled north to get a firsthand look at proposed bonding projects including a hockey arena in Moose Lake and a Lake Superior water contamination plan in Duluth.
