Carnegie Library Bonding Request
- The historic Carnegie Library in Bemidji is in dire need of restoration according to project proponents. The library, which was constructed in 1910, has nearly 25,000 cars pass within five feet of its entrance every day. Project leaders want to move the building away from the highway, create a new foundation and modernize the mechanical systems. They are asking for $800,000 of a total $1.6 million project.
